Chapter 24
Soyo's Existence Ethics (Existence itself is ethics)

The weight of existence, the revival of philosophy, and the ethics of responsibility
Beauty without existence is not brilliant. If humans were to vanish from this earth, what would remain? Mountains would still stand, seas would still surge, and stars would still orbit in the darkness. But they would no longer be called “beautiful.” For there would be no one left to gaze upon them, feel them, weep over them, rejoice in them, and prove their existence.
Existence only “exists” when it is recognized. All the light, order, and seasons of this world can only be complete with the presence of humans as “witnesses of meaning.” Therefore, philosophy must begin with this question: “If humans did not exist, what would be the purpose of philosophy?”
Who will take responsibility for the world built on blood? We boast thousands of years of civilization. However, that civilization has never fully protected life. Throughout countless wars, massacres, abuses, and histories of domination and exploitation, human existence has always been reduced to statistics, diminished to numbers, and sacrificed in the name of national progress.
And we remained silent. When a child starved to death, when a woman disappeared in violence, when an elderly person died alone in the indifference of society, we did not treat it as a philosophical issue.
I ask, “Who should be held responsible for that blood?” “On whose philosophy has that suffering been neglected?”
Philosophy must not remain silent in the face of these questions. Silent philosophy is no longer philosophy. It is betrayal. It is an ethical betrayal of existence. Humanity has often called upon God in the face of suffering, whether it be suffering permitted by God or suffering created by humans. The deeper the suffering, the more we sought God, and the greater the misfortune, the more we sought comfort by speaking of God's will. But we have forgotten that not all suffering comes from God.
The suffering permitted by God was a journey through the wilderness. It was a training to humble our pride and lead us toward the truth. However, the suffering created by humans is different. War, discrimination, violence, poverty, and greed are not permitted by God, but by humans.
And this suffering comes with responsibility. Those who harm life in the name of God, those who remain silent in agreement, and those who turn away with indifference are all those who have violated the creative providence of human existence, and they must be held accountable in the court of philosophy.
“Humans must take responsibility for suffering that God has not permitted.” This is the fundamental declaration of existential ethics. Philosophy must begin anew on the blood of the victims. For thousands of years, philosophy has asked, “What is existence?” But when existence bleeds and dies, philosophy remains silent. This is a crisis of thought and the disappearance of ethics.
I say this unequivocally: “Philosophy must begin anew on the blood of existence.”
Philosophy, come down from the tower of learning and kneel before existence. In the face of the cries of loved ones, philosophy must be language, not silence. In the face of the tears of those who mourn, philosophy must be comfort, not concepts. In the face of the breath of those who are dying, philosophy must be responsibility, not explanation. This is the core of the philosophy of turmoil and the return of living philosophy.
The philosophy of human existence = the path to interpreting God's creation. Humans are not beings built upon nature. Nature exists for humans, and the center of life is within humans. This is not arrogance. This is God's order of creation and humble reverence for the providence of life.
“Human existence is not an explanation, but a divine gift that must be accepted.”
Any system that denies this gift and reduces human existence to a tool must be rejected in the name of philosophy and in the name of humanity. All wars, discrimination, and exploitation are “sins before philosophy,” and all human existence is both the beginning and the conclusion of philosophy.
“Imagine a world without human existence.” This question is not a mere imagination. It is the final warning that philosophy must respond to, and the divine voice that ethics must kneel before once again. The order of nature exists for the survival of humanity. A world that ignores the weight of that survival cannot justify any justice, any theology, or any civilization.
Philosophy must kneel before human existence once again. And that knee must call out the name of life, which cries in silence. This is the philosophy of Xiao Yao, this is the revival of forgotten philosophy, and this is the final question that existential ethics poses to the world today.
“Philosophy without existence is a sin.” -Soyo
