Soyo's Existence Ethics (Existence itself is ethics)

Hidden Breath
Hidden Breath

Awe is Embedded in Every Breath

Humans walk, talk, see, hear, and breathe to live. Yet, these everyday actions are so familiar that we seldom pause to consider the profound mystery they hold. Breathing, for example, transcends its physiological function; each breath is a cosmic event, a moment when the universe is renewed within me. With every inhale and exhale, a quiet miracle unfolds—a manifestation of grace in which the breath of God gently fills my lungs and sustains my being. Nevertheless, human beings take it for granted. They do not give thanks even for the act of breathing, and they forget the nobility of living their daily lives. However, the ethics of existence declares:

“Those who breathe are, in themselves, beings of gratitude and awe.”

The Misunderstanding of Free Will and Human Delusion

Humans often regard free will as their personal possession, believing they can act as they wish, make any choice, and define their own lives. Yet, free will is not without boundaries. It operates only within the temporal realm and is, ultimately, a fleeting gift that will one day vanish. When humans absolutize free will, they elevate themselves to the status of gods. But this freedom is not absolute. It falters in the face of death, trembles amid suffering, and hesitates before conscience. In the end, people come to understand that free will is not something they own, but rather a reflection of something transcendent already dwelling within them.

The Silence of God Hidden within Free Will

Humans possess the ability to choose. Yet, at every crossroads, they encounter the echo of conscience—a resonance that is neither simply social conditioning nor a psychological reflex. Instead, it is the cry of God's silence, indelibly inscribed within the depths of every person. God granted free will, but He also embedded His tears and love into its very fabric. Thus, no matter how fiercely people seek to live without restraint, they can never break the bonds of conscience. These bonds are not self-fashioned; they are woven directly into the core of human existence by God.

A New Definition of Freedom and Ethics

We often perceive freedom as "the right to do anything." Yet, from the standpoint of existential ethics, freedom is less about defining right and wrong and more about charting a direction for one's existence. Free will becomes the question of where to aim one’s life—toward death or toward eternity. Thus, ethics transcends mere rules or laws; it is the breath of life that stirs when human free will meets the will of God. Ethics is not simply a set of written norms, but a living testimony flowing through my conscience in each breath I take today.

Freedom that Lives Eternally

When human free will encounters the will of God, the ethics of life are rekindled. This meeting reveals that humans are not merely agents of finite choices, but beings destined for eternity. Even if the human body is dispersed, freedom and conscience are held within God's love and bear witness to eternity. This is the heart of freedom in the ethics of existence: freedom is not a right that perishes before death, but a love awakened in the presence of God. True freedom is not living by my own desires, but the evidence that my being participates in eternity through the breath of God.

Declaration of Soyo Existence Ethics

Free will is not an isolated possession of humanity, but a trace of grace that God has sown within us. Ethics are not merely human constructs, but a living vitality that awakens when free will encounters the divine. Humans are not finite beings destined for death, but eternal witnesses who can never perish within God's love.

Soyo Proposition

“When human free will meets God's free will, the ethics of life come alive. This is the only way to prove that human beings are immortal beings.”
